Anne G. Patterson, R.D.
Anne Patterson, president of Nutrition Advantage, creates food and nutrition communications for health and vitality. Her company provides support for specialized projects from concept to finish throughout the food industry. Anne provides culinary and nutrition communications, which include: media spokesperson tours, technical nutrition review, educational and culinary presentations, freelance writing, recipe development and menu planning.
Anne's clinical nutrition background coupled with her extensive work in tailoring culinary information to the needs of targeted audiences has allowed her to carve out a unique place in the vegetarian and soyfoods industry. She has conducted over 150 presentations on the culinary and health benefits of soyfoods. Presently she is a nutrition consultant for the United Soybean Board's Reinventing the Meal with Soy school lunch program and the 1-800-TALKSOY hotline. She has been a guest presenter for the Soy Connection Seminars for Dietitians for the past four years.
She has been on the editorial board of the United Soybean Board's Soy Connection, a quarterly newsletter sent to over 110,000 registered dietitians, physicians, and consumer and family science professionals since its inception in 1993.
Anne was instrumental in the development of the first culinary educators kit, Soyfoods: Products of Your Imagination.
Formerly Anne was a nutrition consultant for physicians, corporate wellness programs and long-term care homes. She began her career in hospital clinical dietetics. She holds a B.S. degree from Bradley University and completed a dietetic internship at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. Anne studied at The Cooking Hospitality Institute of Chicago, 1995, and completed a short-term culinary program at The School of Natural Cookery, Boulder, Colorado, 1996. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, International Association of Culinary Professionals and an allied member of the American Culinary Federation. She and her husband manage two farms in Illinois which grow soybeans.
